Like any other A.A. service, the primary purpose of those involved in archival work is to carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous. Archives service work is more than mere custodial activity, it is the means by which we collect, preserve and share the rich and meaningful heritage of our fellowship. It is by the collection and sharing of these important historical elements that our collective gratitude for Alcoholics Anonymous is deepened.

Please remember the District 1 Archives Committee is available for displays at your Holiday or Anniversary Meetings. Keep in mind these Archives belong to YOU and to all of the members of Pinellas County AA.  When we bring the display, you have a wonderful opportunity for learning the beginnings of AA and teaching your newer members how we have grown.

We are happy to give an historical talk or just a display for free and for fun!

Archives Committee is also looking for committee members. There are several ways you can be of service, interviewing long-timers, helping with displays, etc.

Please contact the District 1 Archives Chair at district1archives@gmail.com or Central Office at (727) 530-0415 or centraloffice@aapinellas.org if you would like to volunteer or if your group would like an archives display.

TREATMENT COMMITTEE

Our Savior Lutheran Church
(formerly Rogate Church)
4827 East Bay Drive
Largo

The Treatment Facility Committee assigns Coordinators to Facilities in Pinellas County where the clients are not allowed to attend outside meetings. In turn, these Coordinators set up Chairpeople for each meeting.

District 1 Has “One-night-a-month” commitments for home-groups and individuals. We have a service opportunity for someone to be a service volunteer coordinator.

Have your home group sponsor a newcomer... Have them attend our monthly treatment meetings to see what service opportunities are all about. They are held the last Saturday of each month @ 10:00am, 4835 East Bay Dr., Largo. (Due to the Pinellas County Intergroup picnic, April’s meeting will be the 20th.)

Public Information / Cooperation with the
Professional Community (PI/CPC) Committee

Last Monday of each month
6:00 to 7:00 pm

Central Office
8340 Ulmerton Road, Suite 220
Largo
Dist1PI-CPC@aapinellas.org

If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please come join us at our monthly meeting. Also suggest your home group elect a "Public Information Representative" and encourage them to get involved with us. You and your group can be of real service to help us carry the message to the alcoholic who does not know who we are, or that we even exist.

Most groups realize that the alcoholic can't come to AA for help unless they know where we are........

The committee communicates with professionals in Health Care, Law enforcement, Treatment, Corrections, Human Resources, Counseling, Sociology, Ministry, Education, Communications, & Judicial Systems.  It cooperates, without affiliation, with those seeking to help the active alcoholic.  It provides support and resources to AA Members seeking to educate Professionals with whom they have contact.
